Application Checklist

20 items to bring when applying for your home loan.

Below you'll find "20 Items" needed to begin your home loan application process. This list is designed to help you in gathering your materials, but if you need further assistance, or have any questions, please feel free to contact a Loan Counselor at the Peoples First office nearest you. Print this list now and "Prepare For A Home Loan."

Personal Information

1 Full name of all persons applying for the loan along with their social security numbers.
2 Your home address, including zip code, for the last 24 months and the names and addresses of landlords and/or mortgage lenders.
3 If BUYING: Sales agreement and legal description.
4 If REFINANCING: Legal description, current real estate tax statement, lender's name and address, loan number, balance, and monthly payments.
5 For VA or FHA/VET loans, include a copy of your military separation form DD-214 or the VA Certificate of Eligibility, if already obtained. If you are in the service, we will need a Statement of Service from your Commanding Officer and off-base housing permit year-to-date. (VA Loans require name and address of nearest living relative.)

Employment Information

6 Name and complete address of employers (for all applicants) for the last 24 months.
7 Last two (2) years' W-2 forms for all applicants.
8 Most recent pay stubs covering one full month and year-to-date info for all applicants.
9 Verification of any other income to be used for qualification purposes (must continue for at least three years.)
10 If any applicant is self-employed, bring copies of your current profit and loss statement, a current balance sheet, and Income Tax Returns for the past two years, both personal and business.

Financial Information

11 A list of account numbers, current balances, and complete bank/credit union addresses for all checking and/or savings accounts.
12 Copies of your last two months' checking and savings account statements.
13 Copies of most recent investment account statements, if applicable.
14 Social Security numbers of all applicants.
15 List of your open installment and revolving accounts including account numbers, monthly payments and current balances along with your creditor's names and mailing addresses.
16 If you have fewer than three open accounts, list account number, address, and amount borrowed from past credit account references.
17 List job-related expenses such as insurance, union dues, and dependent care.
18 If any applicant is obligated to pay alimony, child support, or separate maintenance, bring a copy of the recorded divorce decree and/or maintenance agreement.
19 If any applicant owns other real estate, please provide a list of all income, copies of all leases and/or rental agreements, names and addresses of all lenders, loan numbers, loan balances, and monthly payments.
20 List all retirement funds information, including serial numbers of savings bonds, stock, and similar assets. Provide copies of Award Letters.
